German words ending in -tät
Every noun ending in -tät is die. The longer -ität is the same ending with more word in front of it.
Most German nouns that end in -tät end in -ität: Universität, Qualität, Realität. The bare form exists as well, in words like Fakultät, Majestät and Pubertät, where the syllable before the ending is not an i. Both are the same Latin ending, and both are feminine.
So the working version is short. If a noun ends in -tät, it is die. It does not matter what comes before, and there is nothing on the exception list, because there is no exception list. This ending is one of the few in German where the rule is the whole story.
The English cousin is -ty, and that is why so many of these words look familiar on paper. Faculty and Fakultät, university and Universität, puberty and Pubertät. The genders are not shared, of course, since English has none, but the vocabulary is.
